Avram partnered with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to present the Puerto Rico Rebuild Economy Summit 2017, November 2-5, in San Juan.
Representatives of numerous businesses from South Florida, New York and Washington D.C. met with federal and local representatives to participate in the U.S. Government’s rebuilding efforts for the recovery of Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria destroyed much of the island’s infrastructure in October.
Speakers at the summit included Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Director Region 2, Alejandro de la Campa.
A category 5 hurricane, with sustained winds of 175 mph, Hurricane Maria is the tenth most intense Atlantic Ocean hurricane recorded. At least 95 deaths have been attributed to the storm. As Puerto Rico’s deadliest and most costly disaster, damage estimates exceed $50 billion.
